SWEDEN’s Port of Gothenburg saw its container traffic reach 560,000 TEU in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 20 per cent compared with the same period last year, and rail traffic was up seven per cent to 283,000 TEU, data from port authorities show.
Energy product flows remain consistently strong, rising by two per cent to 17.7 million tonnes, while new car figures were up four per cent to 209,000 but now appear to be levelling off, albeit at a high level.
Intra-European roll-on/roll-off traffic remained unchanged at 439,000 units over the January to September period.
