Q&A with Gitte Mattila: New Country Sales Manager in Finland

Q: How come you chose Hecksher as your employer?

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background?

I have worked in sales since 1993 and know the market well. Over the years, I’ve held different roles – including Trade Lane Manager for Asia – which has given me a broad perspective on the industry. This experience helps me understand not only the customer’s needs but also the dynamics of different trade routes and logistics challenges.

Q: What’s the best part of your role today?

What I truly value is the freedom I have to develop local sales in Finland. It allows me to be creative and proactive in finding the right solutions for customers. At the same time, I’m surrounded by professional team members across the Nordics who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Together, we create a strong foundation for serving our customers better every day.

Q: What would your advice be for talents considering a career in logistics?

Logistics is one of the most exciting industries to work in. Every day is a new day, filled with challenges, problem-solving, and opportunities to grow. For someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, it’s a rewarding path.
